Get to know me

I am Emily Bojorquez, but you can call me Em! I was born in Los Angeles; California and I am 26 years old. In 2021 I took the leap and changed careers from Security Guard into Tech!

I am a self-taught programmer with three certifications; two that are focused on Front-End Development and the Google IT Support Specialist certification. I created 2 projects, including my first landing page, using HTML/CSS and JavaScript, and an interactive Weather App using the same technologies and API integration that retrieves and displays live data by city.

Off the Clock

When I'm not working, I love to seek new adventures!

I'm currently in a program named Delete the Divide, an initiative led by the County of Los Angeles to empower youth, young adults, and small businesses in underserved communities who are adversely impacted by the digital divide. Here I gained my certification as a Google IT Support Specialist and Google UX Design Certification.

As I'm navigating the tech world, I found myself loving UX, never in my life did I think you can mix design with technology, but little did I know that both correlate with one another, and it's all around us. I am fortunate enough to put my new skills to work through my internship. I now have 2 projects, both aiming to help thousands of individuals in Los Angeles County! One focusing on LA County Staff, and one impacting thousands of Youths in Los Angeles.

I love helping people and want to find ways to create a more inclusive world to bridge those gaps in technology as it advances.
